Minas Gerais Government Purchases 24 New Trains for BH Metro

On May 28th, the Minas Gerais Government announced the purchase of 24 new trains by the concessionaire Metrô BH, responsible for the operation, modernization, and expansion of the metro system in the Belo Horizonte Metropolitan Region. The goal is to provide more comfort and regularity in trips for public transportation users.
The new trains were manufactured by the Chinese company Changchun Railway Vehicles, a leading subsidiary of the world's largest rolling stock manufacturer, CRRC Corporation Limited (CRRC).
The company has already started the manufacturing project, and the expectation is that the first train will arrive in Brazil and begin operation in the first half of 2026. Once delivered, the new trains will operate on both Line 1 and Line 2 of the Metrô BH.
